My first purely digital case start to finish. Started with digital mock-up and 3D printed shell mock-ups using smile package from Evident. Once approved by patient proceeded to prepare teeth and cemented 3D printed temps same day. I wanted to open the bite to make it easier to correct the anterior crossbite but finances didn’t allow for a full mouth open bite reconstruction. So the lower left lateral incisor was shorter on the printed temps, and on my final
restorations. The printed temps (second pic) held up well for one month, no breakage! I used the envision one from desktop health with Flexcera resin. And the emax finals were fabricated from intraoral scans from the Aoralscan3 from Shining 3D. Thank you Kai Oshiro for your help lending me your scanner and printing for me with your equipment.
In hindsight, I wish I used a higher translucency emax for the restorations and maybe elective RCT on lower lateral to angle correct lingually for better proportions. Ir try harder to push for full mouth to open bite. But I’m still happy with a successful fully digital case from presentation, to cementation. The main thing is the patient was very happy with the results! It’s easy to be critical of your own work sometimes we have to remember if patient is happy then we should be happy along with them.
